A FDC NOTAM/TFR has been issued for Indianapolis, IN for Sunday, 2/5/2012. The TFR establishes the flight restrictions in place for Super Bowl XLVI and will be in effect from 4:30p until 11:59p EST. The affected area is the Indianapolis metropolitan area surrounding Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis, IN. Outdoor model aircraft operations are prohibited within the 30nm circle during the specific times of the TFR. Be advised TFRs are subject to change with very short notice. Please check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information.

New Security Gate (Duane Wright):

A new road barrier has been installed on the road leading up to our flying site. Two 6x6 posts were placed as reflected in photo (at right). A chain was also installed, along with a padlock, which uses the same combination as the main gate.

This work was performed by the following volunteers - Charles Cherry, Bob Badger, Jerry Sharp, and myself.  The weather was great, with pleasant company, and the work went very well. 

In order for this new barrier to be effective, the last person to leave the field must put this gate back up, as well as lock the main gate.  The wooden barrier that we were using (closer to the field) is no longer needed.

We will be having our Annual Club Dinner at Dye's Walk Country Club on Saturday, January 21st, 2011. We will start at 6:00pm, and dinner will be served at 6:30pm.

We will be using their new upper level dining room again this year. Dye's Walk is located East of Hwy 135 between Smith Valley & Stones Crossing roads. The address is 2080 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.

Cost will be $15 per person. You can either pay Matt at the January meeting or send him a check for the dinner to 7433 Licannor Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46217.

The menu will be very similar to the excellent food we had last year. There will also be something for dessert. They have a cash bar, and non-alchoholic drinks are free.

There will be several raffle prizes again this year.  To participate, you will purchase books of tickets - $10 or $20 - which contain different colored tickets for each of the items.
