Tri County Aero (AMA club #300) is again associating with the Indiana Military Museum in Vincennes IN for their “WWII salute” living history event to be held on the weekend of September 11th / 12th 2010. This is the third year for this event and it already has grown from a one day format to the two-day weekend event scheduled this year. This is a living history event meant to increase awareness of the times and events of WWII in a way that honors those who defended our country in those black days.
To get a feel of just what the event was like last year you can check out this video
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZyWx35YfxI The weekend will include:
WORLD WAR II RE-ENACTORS from throughout the region will represent various combat units from the WWII period with encampments, tents, equipment, uniforms, weapons and insignia.
WORLD WAR II tanks, artillery, halftrack, trucks, jeeps & aircraft from the Museum inventory will be on outdoor display with vehicles from private collectors and live fire demonstrations.
Food and Refreshment Vendors are present. All outdoor exhibits are free and open to the public.
A static display of flyable RC replicas of WWII aircraft.
This is where we need your help;
We are inviting all those who wish to, to participate in this display. Aircraft will be displayed in a secure roped-off area with room to put up a shelter (see last year’s video). We need aircraft for both days so you can come for either day or for both. Our goal is to display a large number of aircraft each day so Please contact me if you are interested and we’ll work out a schedule. This is a great event and you will enjoy it immensely. Aircraft must be from the WWII era and in military livery, they can be for any country involved and of any type.
Set up is 7:00 to 9:00 (EDT) both days
Come and join us at this fun event, you won’t be sorry.
