http://www.indyrcsouth.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=30&topic=77.msg501#msg501

The Indianapolis South Radio-Control club is hosting its 21st annual benefit air show
"Fly-In for Diabetes" on Saturday and Sunday, September the 16th and 17th, at their flying field just south of Greenwood Indiana. The public is invited to visit Rike field either or both days to see a great Radio-Control model air show and help raise money that will go directly to the American Diabetes Association.

The day's events feature something for the entire family. Refreshments prepared and served by club members will be available at an attractive price On display throughout both days will be a variety of scale models, and continuous flying demonstrations will include radio-controlled scale and high performance planes.

Each day's program begins  at 12 noon and continues until 5 PM. There is no admission charge. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs/blankets. To help guide visitors to the field, direction signs will be posted East of the Greenwood exit from Interstate 65 (Main St – 950N), and at the intersection of U.S. 31 and county road 750N.

Message from President Duane Wright regarding the ADA Fly-In:
-------------------------------------------------------------

Attention All Members-

Our ADA airshow is coming up on 16 and 17 September.  This two day event has become the premier activity annually conducted by our club.  It is a club activity which needs the support and participation of all members.  I ask all members to plan on attending one of the two days, along with your family and friends.  The airshow is always entertaining, and by attending you will show your support for the club and help the ADA.

There are a number of other support areas that need support.  We need concession workers.  We also need parking and frequency control managers.  We also need people who can manage our raffle ticket sales.  I will be addressing these needs at our upcoming 11 September meeting.  However, it would be a great help if you could email me before then at president@indyrcsouth.org.  I need to finalize who will help and on what day.

Additionally, we need new hobby items for our daily raffles.  Please let me know if you have something you would care to donate.  Also, we need new or serviceable hobby and/or non hobby items for our daily end of show auctions.

Lastly, I hope to see many of you at our September club meeting.  At meeting end we will be giving away another Spektrum radio, which provides interference free flying anywhere!

See you at the meeting and at our ADA airshow!
Duane

Attention All Members -

As you all know, our 21st annual ADA Airshow will take place this weekend.  While event plans have been finalized, there are a few details that need all our attention.

We can use more tables and awnings.  If you have these items and can loan them for our weekend use, please bring them out on Saturday morning.

For our concession area, we are in need of desserts.  If you can bring home made cookies/brownies (packaged in pairs), or individually wrapped snacks such as Little Debbies, it will be a big help.  We need these for both Saturday and Sunday.

We are still in need for volunteers for both days.  We need people to man our frequency control area, and for parking control.  If you can help in these areas on either day, come on out.  Volunteer schedules are attached.  If you have previously volunteered in any capacity, please check out the times proposed.

We need all members to review their garages and storage areas.  If you have hobby or household items you are not using, bring them out for our daily end of show auctions.  Our past auctions have generated bargains for attendees and significant dollars for the ADA!

Our event schedule has open flying periods throughout both days.  We need club pilots to bring out planes and fly during these times.  There will be tickets given for each flight and a drawing each day for pilots who fly during these times.

Lastly, I would like to see the majority of our membership attend one or both of the event days.  In the past this has not been the case.  Your attendance will demonstrate support for our club, and make a real difference toward generating ADA funding.  Please come out and bring your friends and neighbors!

I appreciate your review of this message content and your club support!
Duane

Fellow Club Members...

Our 2006 ADA Airshow is now past.  Our club treasurer is in the process of accounting for all income and expenses.

If you have any bills for expenses you incurred for the ADA event, please contact Chuck.  Additionally, if you have any donations not yet turned in, or knowledge of donations made to the ADA in the name of our club, please get this information to our treasurer.

Chuck Gelatka's email address is: treasurer@indyrcsouth.org

Thanks for your attention to this.

I just wanted to say that your club does a Great Job as usual on and off the flight line for putting on another Great Fund Raiser for ADA.

Thanks you to all for letting me fly and have a great time with all of you.  I wish the weather would have been better for the Sunday show.

Hope to see you all soon!

Thank You
