The 2010 Indianapolis Citywide Fun Fly will be hosted by the Plainfield Screaming Eagles this year.

Schedule for the event is as follows:

9:00am - Practice
9:45am - Pilot's meeting
10:00am - Competition begins

Standard Citywide events will be flown:
- Bomb Drop
- Limbo
- Cup/Stick Break
- Spot Landing

Dear fellow modelers,
 
This is a reminder that the City Wide Fun Fly is scheduled for Saturday August 21, at the Screaming Eagles field in Plainfield.
 
Practice begins at 9:00 am with competition beginning at 10:00 am.
 
Traditional rules will apply for the four events, bomb drop, cup break, limbo and spot landing.
 
You should have received a flyer earlier in the year, if not, it is available on our website here - http://www.screamingeagles.org/files/2010/SE%20City%20Wide%202010.jpg
 
Directions to the field are on the flyer and posted on the Screaming Eagles website

Here's a copy of the article in the latest Plainfield Screaming Eagles Newsletter:

Wow, what can I say? The City Wide Fun Fly was a great event. It was held at our field on Saturday, August 21. There were 17 registered flyers, 8 from the Screaming Eagles, 7 from the Southside Club and 2 from Danville. Many others came out to watch as well.
Cloudy skies and a slight wind down the runway made for ideal conditions throughout the contest.

The huge success was mainly due to our club members that helped during the day.
John Nyland put up the signs and had the field in tiptop shape. (Several people commented on how nice our field looked).
Mark Crittenden ran the concessions. The “Donations Only” bucket yielded a profit
of about $40.

Ron Richardson was taking wonderful pictures during the whole event. He is a real pro with that camera and long lens.
Our judges and scorers did a fantastic job. They were Gary Cornwell, Andy Clark, Tim Woods, Shea Farnsley, and Doug Nastally. They kept the contest moving and running smoothly without any problems.

Steve Ragsdale was the CD and carefully explained the rules during the pilots meeting.
Participants from our club were nice guy Dietz, Al Myers, Doug Fish, Mike Karnes, Bob McClure, Joe Winterrowd, Eric Hurst, and Steve Ragsdale (our highest scorer).
In the end, a good time was had by all.

And oh, a rally in the second round came up short for the Screaming Eagles as the Southside Club won again by a very narrow margin.

If my math is OK, it looks like the margin was 1455 to 1230, edge to the South Side Club.  Way to go guys!!!
