I'm building a Cermark SU-26 with a gas engine 26cc zenoah. I need some words of wisdom on the gas tank installation. Since there is no pressure tap, how is the tank vented and what lines do I need. Do I need special tubing, some has been provided by Mfg. but what do I do.

I'm not an expert, so please take this for what it is worth.  I'm in the process of installing my first gas engine as faced a similar situation.

First, you must use Tygon tubing for fuel lines.  The lines used for glow applications will not react kindly when exposed to gasoline.

Second, add a pressure tap to the muffler.  It is a simple drill and tap procedure.  This will vent the tank.

Then everything is pretty much like a glow application.  Depending on your setup, you can use either a two or three line system between the motor and tank, based on your preferences and how you want to fill/empty the tank.

By the way, I was able to start and run my gas engine with the pressure fitting added.  So far, it has not shown any ill effects.  Still must fly it to be sure.

John,

I believe that you will need a gas-proof tank stopper as well.  The stopper that comes with glow tanks will not hold up to the gasoline.

Barb normally keeps Gasoline conversion kits for fuel tanks at the shop.
