Received this from Steve Wilson via the indyeflyers email distro on www.rchangout.com:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have talked to the owner of a local indoor dirt track facility(El & Nitro) and he is thinking about having Friday Nights open to Electric Powered Helicopters(I couldn't believe my ears).

He is currently checking with his insuance company to get a standard 'release' form, which we all would have to sign to fly.

The facility is a large warehouse, with a dirt floor(arranged for dirt racers), but plenty of space for our helicopters. There are also plenty of 'work tables' to fix that small trouble with landing too hard!!! He said he might start stocking the parts that always fail and/or get broken, so repairs are done in a few hours, not days!!

I will update this info as soon as the owner gets a reply from his insurance company.

Who's interested??

The facility is located near 465 & Pendletonpike (on the N.E. side of Inpls.)

Regards,
Stephen Wilson

I'm new to the area.  I've always been a car and truck guy.  My father and I are looking for Indoor flying for our helicopters and planes around Indianapolis. I live on the south side, but will travel to get a good location. Got more Info? Thanks.

I would welcome the chance to fly at that location.

Matt,

Here are some additional possibilities...

The hangar up at Anderson, IN airport is a great place to fly.

Their next session is New Year's Eve/Day, from 7pm 'til 7am.

A closer venue for you would be the Benedictine Center in Beech Grove, IN.

This isn't as large as the Anderson site, but it is much closer.
Currently it is only open to Indy R/C South members, but John Gaither (gatorindy) has talked about allowing others in.
The next session is on Sunday, Jan 6th, from 1-4pm.
If nothing else, you could stop by and check it out.

You mentioned planes and helicopters.  What do you have to fly indoors?

Hope this helps...
Chuck
