Hey guys,
This posting is also as a reply in:  http://www.indyrcsouth.org/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,30/topic,248.0
Please go there to view photos of what can be donel

"DON'T head straight to the trash can with your damaged airframe". (assuming it is not splinters).  Grin
"Go ahead and take out the useable components, but store the airframe for several days, or a week. Then make your decision".  That SpaceWalker ARF in the photo above was my first bigger plane.  On the way home from the field I called Hobby RC and ordered another one. A day or two later I called them back and cancelled my order, (since she had not called it in yet).  I was there the next day with my list for balsa sticks and sheets, etc. It is so easy with the ARF's out there to, "just go get another one".  There is nothing wrong with that...... but repairing ..... and improving it at the same time CAN be rewarding. Those new to the hobby can also learn about "what is under that covering"! Wink  This may give you the urge to repair OR try your hand at a kit next winter. .........lownslo

I posted this as a reply to my entry above.
There is another reason to store the airframe.  If you have any thoughts of kit building OR repairing covering, a "test" part will come in handy. Practice covering on it. I had the left half of a wing from my first plane in 2000 till last summer when I moved.  I used it to practice on. I also showed some other guys, then let them try their hand at covering it. There is nothing like "hands on".  Smiley...
