Hi all,
On behalf of Roy, I want to invite everyone out to our final float fly of the season at the Wilson's. Let's hope the weather man is right for a change because the forecast is for 69 and sunny with a light (7mph) west breeze. Not likely to get a better October day for a float fly! Because of the lessening daylight hours, we will go back to our 1:00PM starting time. No meal this time so make your own arrangements. Here are directions for any who can't remember or haven't been there before:
Directions:
1. I-70 to Greenfield exit (SR#9)
2. South on SR#9 to downtown Greenfield at intersection of SR#9 & US#40 (Hancock County Courthouse).
OR Washington St.(US 40) out to Greenfield, where it crosses Hwy 9 at the Courthouse.
3. East on US#40 (from SR#9) 4 miles to 600 East -- a large rural intersection with turn lanes but no light.
4. South from US#40 on 600 East for 1 mile to 100 South -- there's an electric substation in the SW corner of 600 East & 100 South.
5. East on 100 South 1 3/4 miles to 775 East "T" road that stops at 100 South. At the 775 East "T" there will be an older farm house & a new brick home. Take the westernmost blacktop driveway ( it would be 775 East if 775 East continued south) between the 2 barns and continue to the pond...the pond & gazebo are visible after you go between the barns.
If you don't have a float plane there is a grass area to fly off of as well, or just come out and enjoy watching the other pilots trying their hand at float flying. There is a rumor of at least one new float plane being "ready for flight"!!!
