The AMA National Flying Site in Muncie, IN will be the host for the Extreme Flight Championships on June 13th - 15th.

Muncie IN – The Academy of Model Aeronautics is pleased to announce that we will be partnering with the Extreme Flight Championships as host for the 2008 XFC held at the AMA's International Aeromodeling Center. This event will take place on the weekend of June 13-15.  The XFC is one of the premier aeromodeling events in the world and attracts the top fixed wing and helicopter pilots in the sport!

Come experience three days of action-packed flying! Saturday night, June 14, will feature fireworks, night flying, -fun for the whole family! Admission each day for the event is $7.50 for Non-AMA members, $5.50 for AMA members (with their membership card), children under 12 are free, and plenty of food and drinks available on-site. Members visiting overnight are welcome to stay in our primitive camp site or RV parking areas. There is a $15 charge for electric hook up and $5.00 charge for primitive camping.

Be sure to visit the National Model Aviation Museum and Cloud 9 gift store on-site.

If you want to catch the action of the XFC up at Muncie this Fri-Sun you can sit at your computer and see all the action - see links below.

Starting on Friday morning FGTV will be broadcasting LIVE from the 2008 XFC in Muncie, Indiana.

This is one of the MUST see MUST attend competitive flying events of the year.  Does your job or wife have you locked down? Can't attend, but your dieing to see the contest?

NO WORRIES!!!!

We'll bring it to you LIVE!

The years schedule is as follows:

Friday:
Competition starts at 8:00 am
Competition resumes after lunch break

Saturday:
Competition starts at 8:00 am
Competition resumes after lunch break
Night Fly and F ireworks start at dusk

Sunday:
Competition starts at 8:00 am
Competition resumes after lunch break

We will do our best to bring you as much of the live action as possible.
But.......
were not going to stop there, we have a full team of ace photographers (Including Jim "Billy Hell" Graham from RCGroups) that will be out in force shooting still shots to bring back all the action in vivid color.

So tune in for all the great XFC action, interesting interviews, and some Q&A with the winners, all here at FGTV and Flyinggiants.com.

Wizard, Kitman, myself and many other FG members will be attending in full force, so stop by the broadcast tent, say "Hi", I personally can't wait to see some of you guys again, and look forward to meeting everyone else!

To get to the web-cast just look for the "Essentials" menu at the top of the FG homepage, and select FGTV LIVE! viewing room, and BAM, you have a front row seat to the XFC.

What a show!

One of the highlights was team GTO Terry Hahn's night fly in conjunction with an awesome pyrotechnic display of fire works of their own.  Terry was hovering around the fireworks during the finale when one exploded knocking off one of his stabilizers.  He was able to power out of harms way and landed successfully.

There was even a 5 year old that was tearing up the sky with a foamy in the evening.  Almost made me want to hang up my radio...

A huge fireworks show concluded the evening on saturday sponsored by Knife Edge software.  It rivaled any fireworks show I've seen in Indy...

Sunday was plagued by wind, but that didn't prevent the helicopter guys from making their aircraft dance, mowing the grass, and surviving it.
