Title: House of Balsa P-47 Post by: Stegahorse on October 10, 2007, 02:56:56 PM I've run into a snag on this 1/12 scale P-47 from House of Balsa. I don't have enough room for the servo for the ailerons. I'm using an HS-81 Hi-Tech servo.
Only the round (circle )horn fits when I put the wing to body. This horn doesn't produce enough throw to move the ailerons the required amount. Suggestions? The really gooffy thing about this plane is that I bought it about 8 years ago and put a .20 engine on it as the rules allowed then. It may not even be worth my time to even finish it. It's hard to understand exactly what your problem is without a photo or two.
Is the interference problem with other components installed in the fuselage? One option might be to install a really small servo out in each wing panel, direct driving each aileron. Otherwise, you'll just need to rearrange things until there's enough room. Chuck Title: Re: House of Balsa P-47 Post by: Stegahorse on October 10, 2007, 06:39:01 PM The wing is to Print specs. My thought is to put a second servo next to the one on the other side of the center tape and operate each aileron arm by seperate servos but "Y"ed together. Where the servo mounts is very close to the fuselage wall. I can then operate with the 2 1/2 servo arms facing each other.
