The Bulletin Board code you are referring to requires a url that points to the picture you wish to use.  The syntax for all bulletin board code can be found at the following url:
http://www.indyrcsouth.org/forum/index.php?action=help;page=post#bbcref

an example of using the img tag results in the following:

the code for the above is:
Code:
[img]http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/srpr/logo1w.png[/img]

Here is another example using a photo from our photo gallery:

Code:
[img]http://www.indyrcsouth.org/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/Tex_Twin.jpg[/img]

attachments are different and require you to upload images to the attachment directory.

Look through the help section, and if you have any other questions I will be happy to assist

Burke,

You should be able to attach photos to a forum post, but it has to be less that 200KB in size.

Here's an example of a posting with an attached image:
http://www.indyrcsouth.org/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,30/topic,765.msg2227#msg2227

Just click the
  • Additional Options... link at the bottom of the posting window.
Then use the Browse... button to find the image on your machine and attach it.

You may have to resize your image to get it to fit under the 200KB limit.
Normally I resize mine to 640x480 and this makes them small enough.

Let me know if you can't get this to work.

Chuck
