Olde Tyme Fun Fly at 3pm:

This will NOT be the same as our normal Fun Fly (Bomb Drop, Limbo, etc.).  We will instead have team events that some might consider silly.  This event will be open to anyone with a current AMA.

Planned events for the Fun Fly are: (in no particular order)

Egg Drop:  This is a team event where one pilot drops the egg from his plane, and the other tries to catch it - typically in a bucket or a skillet.  Oh, and the eggs are NOT hard-boiled.  Smiley

Black Jack:  Numbered squares will be laid out on the runway.  Both team pilots will take off and then do touch-n-gos in the squares to score points.  The objective is to get as close as they can to 21 without going over.  Pilots decide who will go first, but then they must alternate until they decide to stop.

Air Mail:  The airmail pilot attaches a "letter" to his plane, takes off, does a loop, roll and then lands.  The mailman (his team mate) retrieves the letter from the plane, after it comes to a stop and hand carries it to the person it is addressed to.  Timer starts on takeoff and stops when letter is delivered.  Shortest time wins.

Oh Crap!:  One team member takes off, and his team mate rolls a pair of dice.  Whatever number is rolled, this same number has to be rolled again before the guy flying can land.  Event is timed from initial dice roll to landing.  Shortest time wins.

Picnic @ 6pm:

The Picnic will begin at 6pm, and is open to anyone - including non-flyers.  Hopefully everyone will work up an appetite during the Fun Fly.  The club will provide the meat (hamburgers/hotdogs/etc) and drinks.  We ask that attendees bring either a covered dish (with food in it) or a dessert.

Hope to see you there!  Smiley

The weather forecast isn't looking too good for tomorrow's event.

Winds out of the SSW->SW at 15mph+.

30% chance of T-Storms from 1pm to 4pm.
60-70% chance of T-Storms 4pm to 7pm.

I will check the weather in the morning and make a go/no go decision.

Sorry folks, but I'm going to cancel the Olde Tyme Fun Fly & Picnic scheduled for today.

I just don't think the weather is going to cooperate.

They are predicting 60-70 percent chance of Thunderstorms (some severe) this afternoon.

Maybe we'll have better luck for our next event?

Glad you checked the site before you headed out.
I did put up signs at the field.

Of course it hasn't rained yet, but it is very windy.
