Don't Miss E-Fest 2009!

Great Planes Model Manufacturing is hosting E-Fest -- an indoor electric-flying festival where participating pilots stretch their skills to the limit...and spectators shake off the winter doldrums by watching edge-of-your-seat indoor aerobatics.

E-Fest will be held at the University of Illinois Armory Track & Field Facility in Champaign, Illinois. With its 100-foot ceiling and vast open space, the Armory offers an ideal stage for hot R/C flying during cold winter days.

Both days of E-Fest allow several hours for open flying. Other times are reserved for slow flyers, jets, helis, 3-D, combat, and sponsored demos. Saturday's fun concludes with "Black-Out Nite Flying"...when the Armory fills with music and flying LEDs.

Don't miss this winter's Big Event in R/C flying. For complete information about E-Fest -- admission and registration details, schedules, lodging, maps and more -- visit the festival web site at www.gpe-fest.com.

If you're not able to attend the event, be sure to visit RCGroups.com for live Internet coverage.

The La Quinta has served us well in past years. Plus there is a Bob Evans across the street.

The field house will be open @ 5 pm on friday night for set up and open flying. Tables are provided but go fast. I will Be there friday and save as many spots as possible. usually we set up on the end by the concession stand. It is a little less crowed down there.

If you have never been to a large sponsered indoor event give this one a try.

RC Universe has just published its coverage of the 2009 Great Planes E-Fest indoor electric festival.

They have provided more photo and video coverage then any other website or magazine.
Watch the 50+ videos and 100+ photos taken at the event along with the staff writeup.

Enjoy!

I'm still bitter about my parking ticket!   I'm sure I got mine since I had Purdue plates on while on the IL campus.

It's a revenue scheme concocted by Madoff for sure...  they found me and sent me the ticket in the mail which directs you to their website.

The site states you can appeal, but only if you pay your ticket first.  So being a good government subject, I pay my ticket and click on "Appeal" at which time the site informs me that the ticket it too old to appeal...

But we won the Big Ten tourney, so I guess there is some redemption from that fact...
