(Received the following from Jack Sallade...)

Hi all,
Just dropping a reminder on behalf of Roy Wilson that we are having our first float fly of the season at the Wilson property on Sunday June 3rd, starting at 5:00PM.  The current forecast says High 70s and a chance of thunderstorms (only 30% so lets hope we can avoid those for a few hours) with winds to maybe 10 or so from the south.  Sunset isn't 'till 9:06 so we we should have several good flying hours.  Here are directions for any who can't remember or haven't been there before:

Directions:
1.  I-70 to Greenfield exit (SR#9)
2.  South on SR#9 to downtown Greenfield at intersection of SR#9 & US#40 (Hancock County Courthouse).
OR  Washington St.(US 40) out to Greenfield, where it crosses Hwy 9 at the Courthouse.
3.  East on US#40 (from SR#9) 4 miles to 600 East -- a large rural intersection with turn lanes but no light.
4.  South from US#40 on 600 East for 1 mile to 100 South -- there's an electric substation in the SW corner of 600 East & 100 South.
5.  East on 100 South 1 3/4 miles to 775 East "T" road that stops at 100 South.  At the 775 East "T" there will be an older farm house & a new brick home.  Take the westernmost blacktop driveway ( it would be 775 East if 775 East continued south) between the 2 barns and continue to the pond...the pond & gazebo are visible after you go between the barns.
(See the attached map for a layout of the farm and pond)

If you don't have a float plane there is a grass area to fly off of as well, or just come out and enjoy watching the other pilots trying their hand at float flying.

Received the following from Jack Sallade:

Hi all,

Just a reminder that we will have our second and final float fly this Sunday out at the Wilson's pond as usual.

Bring your own whatever if you need snacks and stuff.

Start time is the usual 5:00.  Last time at 5:00 the wind was tremendous so we played with the boats for a while but around 7:30 it calmed down nicely and we had some good flying for the few of us who braved it.

If you need directions please refer to the previous posting.  There is plenty of room to fly off the grass as well and the setting is beautiful so bring the family!

Hope to see you there.

Just received this from Jack Sallade:
-----------------------------------

Hi all,

Sorry to say that after careful consideration we have decided to postpone the Aug 5th float fly.  Weather conditions of late have brought the water levels down and made the chemicals the Wilsons have had applied ineffective such that the water is clogged with algea/weeds/moss.  It is doubtful most of the boats would work and the airplanes would have a very tough time with their water rudders.

Therefore, Roy has asked me to pass on that we will have to re-schedule to a future date.  Weather forecast for Sunday looked pretty inhospitable anyway!  We will let you know when we reschedule but we definitely plan on doing this again yet this year if we can just get a little rain!  Maybe we can catch some more pleasant weather as well.
