We are very excited to announce that the worlds first live motion Crosswind Landing simulator is fully operational at the Indianapolis Executive Airport (KTYQ).

Crosswind Landing Training classes are being held every Tuesday and Thursday evening and at other times by appointment.

Special introductory pricing is in effect and Flight Instructors can receive a free demo!

What does the simulator do?
It simulates flight in a light aircraft 6" from landing and keeps you there indefinitely.
The computer produces crosswinds, random gusts, and random turbulence.
You must slip to align the cockpit and bank to keep from drifting off centerline.
A laser guide provides instant feedback of your accuracy.
No computer screen, just a moving cockpit and a centerline on the floor, just like and airplane.
The forces on your body will be real and you will sweat.
Keeps you safe in a 4-point seatbelt harness while you push your limits.

What does the simulator teach you?
How to be aggressive with the flight controls.
Muscle memory and feel for the very next time you fly.
What to look for to make good go-around decisions.
What to look for to enhance control.
How to see deck angle and alignment with your peripheral vision.
The affects of adverse yaw and induced roll.
About 2 years of crosswind experience in 2 hours.
Confidence!

How is the class structured?
No more than 3 people per class.
2.5 hours long (but, we will stay until you get it).
Handouts full of tips and reference information.
Each student will receive about 40 minutes on the simulator (or as much as needed to get it).
All students get to observe other students and learn from their mistakes and discussion.
When you show up, we go straight to the simulator!

Who does the instructing?
Brad Whitsitt
4000 hours CFI/II, MEI, ATP
Designer of the simulator

Crosswinds are the number one cause of weather relates accidents and gusts are number two.  This simulator helps you with both.

Our goal at Xwind is to provide extremely high quality training.  Therefore, we will provide a 100% satisfaction, money-back guarantee.

You will have fun and you will be better with crosswind landings the very next time you fly!

I may have to look into this. Even though I took my checkride in an 11 knot direct crosswind gusing to 20 knots.  Grin
