Attention Indy South side Indoor Flyers!

We have found a place on the South side to do some indoor flying!!!  Smiley

It is the Gathering Place, located at:
    1495 West Main Street
    Greenwood, Indiana 46142

The Gathering Place is conveniently located 4 miles west from Interstate 65.
The nearest intersection to the west is SR 135 (Meridian Street) and Main Street.

For most of our flying sessions we will be using (3) side-by-side basketball courts.  
A couple of the sessions will be in the indoor soccer field.  Both areas are about the same size.

*** Soft-soled shoes are required to prevent any damage to the basketball courts ***

The following website has a video that will give you an idea of what the areas look like.

Each session will be three hours in duration for a cost of only $15 per pilot.
Current AMA will be required to fly.

Helicopters will be limited to 250 sized (for normal flying) or MCPX sized (for 3D flying).

Here is the current indoor flying schedule:
(All dates are Saturday evenings)

Nov. 12th  (5:00-8:00)
Nov. 26th  (5:00-8:00)
 
Dec. 10th  (5:00-8:00)
Dec. 17th  (5:00-8:00)
 
Jan. 14th  (6:00-9:00)
Jan. 28th  (6:00-9:00)
 
*** two new sessions ***
Feb. 18th (6:00-9:00) - two bb courts - $10
Feb. 25th (6:00-9:00) - single bb court - $5 (micros only)
 
Mar.  3rd   (5:00-8:00)
Mar. 10th  (5:00-8:00)
Mar. 17th  (5:00-8:00)

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ANYONE WITH CURRENT AMA...

Well, we had our first session at the Gathering Place on Saturday evening.

For those that attended, what were your thoughts on this new venue?

A couple of updates...

1.  Please wear soft-soled shoes to prevent damage to the basketballs courts.

2.  We are now limiting helicopters to 250-sized for normal flying and MCPX-sized for 3D.

Also, they sometimes lock the outside doors after we start flying.  If you arrive late, give Matt (691-6628) or me (590-7506) a call and we will let you in.

Good news everyone!!!

Matt has secured a session in February, on the 18th, from 6pm-9pm.

We will only be using two courts for this session, instead of three, so we are going to reduce the cost to $10 per person.

Since we will be flying in a smaller area, there will be designated flight times for micros and larger aircraft, to kept the carnage at a minimum.

Another session in February...

Matt has secured a single basketball court, on the 25th, from 6pm-9pm.

This will be for micros only (<= 3 oz) and the cost will only be $5 per person!
